Anyone make fun of you for your most embarrassing moments yet?

[Felix's tone was casual and relaxed, just a little friendly teasing amongst peers. In fact, if Degar were to ask Viveca to spy on him at this moment they'd find the mercenary lounging in his room, making small gestures as he talked as if Degar were right in front of him for this conversation.

It's been awhile, and he probably has no right to treat Degar this way, but that's the mercenary for you. Fake it till you make it. Or maybe he just actually thinks he can be friends with the commander. Debatable(y not).]

I'm kidding. I didn't see anything embarrassing. Just... painful.

[Felix didn't have strong feelings on love--but he imagines if he did that last shared memory would have been heartwrenching. A pang of something bitter and acidic knotted his stomach when he thought too long on it so he very carefully did not analyze it too closely. (If he did, he might recognize it as jealously.)]

So! On that note... I have a request. You guys do that, right? Take requests?

Not yet. [ said equally as casual. maybe not as relaxed, but he can fake it till he makes it too. ] Guess that last one really set the tone.

Well, that's a pity. But yeah, that last big one kinda did... not a- [happy one, he was going to say, but swallowed it down as he remembered one of his that played out while searching. It was definitely jealously that he was feeling but he refused to acknowledge that as possible.] At least you're still together.

[He finally finished in a mutter. He hated himself more than ever in this brief moment of bitter weakness. He moved on quickly. His voice light and casual as ever, an easy facade for a man that practiced it so long it was almost real even when it wasn't genuine.]

I need some stuff from home. Parts for my armor to work on minor repairs, some biofoam to replenish its reserves, and maybe a trick or two if you can snag what I'm looking for. You want me to go through it with you or send a list? The biofoam and teleportation grenades would have practical usage for the team as a whole.

[The parts for his armor, of course, would just benefit him. But he wants the other things, too, and they held the possibility of benefiting more than just him while out on the field if he shared. If being the key word but he made the point to make it sound as if he would be willing to use it for others so that he could get it for himself.]

[ degar takes a breath, thoughtful. there's nothing in this entire multiverse that could express how grateful he is for viv, and when he responds to felix's comment it's with a simple and heartfelt: ]
