Hi, what can I help you with?
// DEGAR
Today was gonna be the day, but they'll never throw it back to you. And by now, you should've somehow realized what you're not to do.

Did you?

I wasn't a very friendly person when I came here. Maybe you've read up on the mission that happened on my homeworld... if you have, then you know I used to be the leader of the revolutionaries, back home. I'd learned to live constantly doubting everyone, testing people, choosing who I could put my trust in so it wouldn't endanger all of us. Towards the end, I looked at everyone with suspicion: if someone came to me offering help, and my first thought would be all the ways it could be a trap.
But I learned to put that away, when I was here. To trust the team I was with, and the people in it.

( she means itachi. she definitely took his statement as a tutor's assignment, after her questions on cirawei. )
Though they're still... words. True stories different from things I know. Other parts similar. I'm not sure how much I really understand. I'm trying, I'm not stupid or anything!
( she knows how to read, she doesn't want to be dismissed or thought unfit for all this, admitting to an ignorance that frustrates her even where it might have made mousesack amused she was finally studying on her own. needs must dictate. if she'd had more time at the temple, she would have done the same for her magic, bothersome scholar boy and his exuberance or no. )
I am trying. I promise I am. People here have no reason to want me for the things people do back home. I don't think I'm useful as a... as a tool? To the people here. Not as one to control.
But the orb whispered something to me with the mission last time, and I'm... worried. What happens if it asks us to betray each other? When our regrets are strong enough to decide we will. Do we recover from that, too?
apologies for the long delay!
[ the fact that she's willing to try, despite it all, means much more than whether she truly gets all of it, or remembers it. ]
It'll come with time, Cirilla. Trust. The people here are good, and you'll find many of them will step in to protect you, even if you don't ask them to.
As for the regrets... it'll be up to you to decide what you're willing to sacrifice. The orbs aren't kind, or just, or good. That's why being able to trust each other is so important. And as long as you're on the station, we're doing all we can to ensure the orbs here aren't any danger to anyone here.
you're all good! i'll make this a wrap for you
( not even an acerbic thought, but a wry one, partly wagging a finger at herself. if she doesn't try to know, she never will. so yes, feel stupid, but at least know what she doesn't know, and know more than she didn't know she knew. )
Okay. You make it sound important, and if I'm here, trying... I'll try. Thanks for the advice. And thanks for talking with me. I hope you have a good day, whatever that means for you.
( then she's off network, such as it is, with more to think on than before. )
