On each planet, in addition to the characters all having their mission to complete, each character is also given a PERSONAL GOAL to fulfill. If they succeed in fulfilling it during the mission, the orb they recover will eventually lend its power to undoing their regret. If they don’t succeed, the orb they recover during that mission will not lend them its power.

Here’s a quick cheat sheet for this:

MISSION ON PLANET X
• If the orb is not recovered, its power will help none of the characters.
• If the orb is recovered, it will help only the characters who have completed their personal goals.
• If Character A completes their goal, the orb will eventually lend them its power.
• If Character B fails to complete their goal, the orb will not lend them its power.

Remember that personal goals are not technically mandatory. It is always up to the character to decide if the goal is something they can or want to fulfill. Similarly, players are not obligated to thread their personal goals out in order to "complete" it. This is an in-game mechanic meant to offer character development and an opportunity for CR; it's not meant to be a burden or added workload! Goals themselves are revealed to characters individually, but unless otherwise specified they are free to share them with their fellow teammates.

GOAL: RANDOM • Host a game of Poker
SUMMARY: Clarke approached her goal by going to Olexa to sell her the idea of hosting a poker game as an assignment for the family with the intent of scamming money from members from other families. Olexa confirmed this was an acceptable assignment for her. She immediately asked on the network to gather people interested in playing a game and she later hosted a game at one of the Lionetta gambling dens.
